He also produced freelance reporting work focused on health and science in New York City. Brett grew up in Bremerton, Washington, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.

Roberto Avant-Mier (PhD, University of Utah) is an Associate Professor and Research Fellow in the Department of Communication at The University of Texas at El Paso, and he is also affiliated faculty in Chicano Studies at UTEP.

Edward Reyes is an intern who helps with editing and mixing audio for KTEP’s show “Good to Grow.”

Daniela Ordaz is in charge of being an on-board operator and going on air for the Texas Standard and at times, Fresh Air. She is responsible for providing accurate weather and traffic reports, and local public service announcements, and making sure the show is running smoothly for all KTEP listeners.
