In the second part of this special edition of El Paso Prime Time, as Texas transitions into the 88th Legislative Session, Richard Dayoub from Thunderbird Management welcomes Texas Senator for District 29, Cesar Blanco, and House Representative for District 78, Joe Moody, where they will be talking about how they deal with deep partisanship, property taxes, what their priorities are for the upcoming session and their insights on the $27 billion surplus that Texas possesses.

Senator Blanco is active in the community as a member of the American Legion, El Paso Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the Rio Grande Council of Governments (RCOG), the Medical Center of Americas (MCA), and Project Bravo Board of Directors. Joe Moody currently serves as Speaker Pro Tempore of the Texas House, as Vice Chair of the Calendars Committee, and as a member of the committees on Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence, and Redistricting.

Every two years, the Texas Legislature convenes for a 140-day regular legislative session. The 88th Legislature’s regular session began January 10 and runs through May 29, 2023.
