El Paso Symphony Orchestra

KTEP is proud to present the 2021-2022 season of the El Paso Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Music Director Bohuslav Rattay.

Czech conductor Bohuslav Rattay is a busy ambassador for classical music, working with orchestras across the globe to produce symphonic works of all kinds to a diverse audience. Mr. Rattay combines impassioned and virtuosic musicianship with a determination to bring great music into the lives of all people.

Mr. Rattay holds degrees from the Prague Conservatory, Rice University and the Peabody Institute of Music. He names Gustav Meier, Larry Rachleff, Benjamin Kamins, and Neeme Jarvi as his most influential teachers.
 
The El Paso Symphony Orchestra Broadcast on KTEP is produced by Nathan Black, a section cellist in the EPSO, the conductor of the EPSYO’s Youth Symphony Ensemble, and the cello instructor at the El Paso Conservatory of Music since 2017. He is also certified public-school teacher at Burges High School. He teaches orchestra and dual-credit music appreciation at El Paso Independent School District. As of 2022, is the resident lecturer of EPSO’s ‘Opening Notes’ series.”
