Sony had a bigger-than-expected opening week for its new animated Spider-Man film, Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse. This film is the sequel and part one of the expected animated trilogy.
Host Charles Horak and frequent contributor Kyle Alvarado discuss the film's appeal to a larger-than-usual audience. They comment on the push for new non-formulaic stories and industry risks that come along with being an innovative animated film. The creative use of multiple realities takes us to a new perspective when creating a diverse range of characters, or in this case, Spider-Mans. An interesting aspect of these characters is that their appearance is not the focal point of their motives, which gives space for better character development.
