Jimmy Hunt and Invaders from Mars

Old Gothic Horror
Ignite Films: Classics for the Future

Host Charles Horak welcomes actor Jimmy Hunt to discuss the 1950s science fiction film Invaders from Mars in which Jimmy Hunt starred at the age of 13. The film is featured at the 2023 Plaza Classic Film Festival, this Tuesday 25th at 1:00 pm.

Jimmy Hunt was a child actor in the late 1940s and early 1950s. After watching Invaders from Mars, children and adults were scared of sand after watching how the Martians would bury people from their feet if they stepped on the sand near their landing site. The film was one of the first movies that had a storyboard guide during the early 1950s yet this practice became more prominent decades later. Two days before production started the storyboards were stolen and up to this day, no one knows who or where they are. Learn more about Jimmy Hunt's experience on set for Invaders from Mars by listening to the interview.
