Host Charles Horak welcomes film journalist and editor of MovieMaker Magazine, Tim Molloy to discuss the status and progress of strikes by movie and television writers and actors.

Movie and television production has been hobbled in this country for the better part of six months due to the historic twin strikes by the Writers Guild of America and the Actors Guild of America. The Writers Guild just ratified a new contract this week with negotiations still going on for the actors.

MovieMaker Magazine is based in Hollywood, and it is published by Deirdre McCarrick and edited by Tim Molloy, a married couple who share their love for movies. Made for everyone who loves moviemaking, the magazine focuses on the art and craft of movies and cinematic TV, offering insider tips about what to watch or create.

Charles Horak didn't sleep much as a child, preferring instead to watch movies on late night TV. Not much has changed since then, except that he now shares his life-long passion for movies with others. Horak's association with On Film began in the summer of 2002 when he was interviewed by the show's originator, Cynthia Haines. In the summer of 2005, Horak took over for Haines as host of the show.
