Borderland Chopin International Competition and Festival

The Borderland Chopin International Competition and Festival was created by Dr. Oscar Macchioni to promote the music of beloved Polish composer Frederic Chopin, as well as other composers from underrepresented groups in the borderland region.

In addition to bringing artists of international caliber to UTEP, the festival wishes to engage with our community through concerts, master classes, outreach and musical instrument donations.

This year’s festival takes place from March 21, 2025 through the 23rd. Executive Director of the Borderland Chopin Festival and Competition, Deborah Svedman, details the event.

Information is available at https://www.utep.edu/liberalarts/music/outreach/borderland-chopin-festival.html.
