In conjunction with the faculty biennial Show at the Rubin Center that opened this week, along with an upcoming zine exhibition at the UTEP library, the Rubin Center will be hosting a lunch time talk about zines this Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
Once relegated to underground DIY scenes, zines are now being preserved as cultural artifacts. This talk with Lisa Novak and Susannah Holliday dives into the power of self-publishing as tools of resistance, storytelling and community building —with a spotlight on UTEP Special Collections' growing zine collection.
