Slow Emergences

Slow Emergences features choreography from 5 UTEP faculty, 1 guest and guest performers.

Slow Emergences centers dance, performance, and embodied practices to rediscover and value what speed and global crises so often destroy.  Together, they ask how healthcare, climate, social welfare, and pedagogy might be reimagined to support long-term livability and communal transformation.

Melissa Melpignano is the artistic director of Slow Emergences, and the choreographer of the piece Carrying Change, which features 6 dancers and 6 healthcare providers.

Today we feature Melissa Melpignano, Crystal Najera and healthcare provider and guest performer Dr. Amelia Rau to preview the performance.
