Jeff Shaara was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he was born into a family of Italian immigrants. Shaara is a New York Times Best Selling Author in which his work included The Steel Wave, The Rising Tide, To the Last Man, Rise to Rebellion, and Gone for Soldiers. Shaara grew up in Tallahassee, Florida where he graduated from Florida State University.

Shaara brings to life Theodore Roosevelt, one of the most consequential figures in U.S History. From the mid-nineteenth century to the early twentieth century, Theodore Roosevelt became the 26th President of the United States and embodied both the myth and reality of the country he loved and led. Shaara presents the story of the man who both defined and created the modern United States.
