El Paso is one of the busiest border crossings in the country. In the past months we have seen the increase in migrants both here and in Cd. Juarez. President Joe Biden visited earlier this month. To talk about the Presidents’ Policy and the issue of immigrants we invited Krish O’Mara Vignarajah. She is the President and CEO of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service. She previously served in the Obama White House as Policy Director for First Lady Michelle Obama.

Quote: Why would a parent let their child cross the border alone? I try to explain that the circumstances that they are facing in their home country are so much worse. That [it is] actually a good option. Which is crazy [to imagine for us].
Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS) works to protect and help settle refugees, migrants, and children seeking a new life in America. The organization got its start in New York City, over 80 years ago.
