NAMI & Mental Health Awareness Month

Logo: https://www.namiep.org/

Host Louie Saenz welcomes Isidro Torres, the executive director of NAMI, the National Alliance of Mental Illness. They will discuss mental health awareness month and some of the organization's goals that give a positive impact on our community. They also comment on access to mental health services to close the digital divide among those who cannot afford internet devices. Giving importance to our stability is vital to ensure personal, physical, and mental safety.

NAMI's focus on mental health is through peer support. One of their goals is to create a healthy support system among families, companies, and schools. The organization relies on trained volunteers for educational courses, presentations, and support groups. For more information, visit the links below. According to Isidro Torres during the interview, "This month NAMI has been actively providing celebratory events and different workshops across the community. The theme of this year is "More than enough," no matter where you come from or who you are, you are more than enough deserving of access to mental healthcare and access to support."
