According to the band, this song is about finding the perfect partner just when you’re about to give up on everything. It was filmed mainly in Samalayuka which is a bit south of Juarez. The song has been featured in ABC’s “Promised Land”, and also in Netflix’s “Todo va Estar”.

The song was born out of the desire to write a great love story, as homage to Angel’s idols and influences: Juan Gabriel, Jose Jose, and Napoleon, to name a few. Here’s a fun fact about this song: The song was actually written over 30 years ago, it wasn’t until recently that the lyrics were finally put to music and the lyrics brought to life.
As Hope - Reason to Breath/ I Hear You Calling
Frontman Adrian started this project in Summer June of 2022 right after his previous band Roma broke up. He said “It felt like the other members wanted to take it slow and I wanted to make music and play as many shows as possible. So when I began As Hope, I booked my first show within only 2 weeks of writing any songs. I found a drummer via Facebook groups and scraped together unfinished demos I had created within the previous few months (which became the first EP). We played about 2 months as a 2-man act before adding my cousin Mark on bass and eventually a revolving door of 2nd guitarists which did serve us well.We have since put out one EP (5 songs) and five singles. Reason to Breathe is our latest release from Nov of 2022. It also was salvaged from an unfinished tune created at the start of the pandemic and evolved into a nearly 6-minute long, two-part pop punk/indie ballad which we are very proud of. Reason to Breathe is about my 4-year old son, and “I Hear you Calling” is about my baby which was conceived in November 2021 but I never got to meet.

Art Solis is a local singer songwriter who has written over 500 songs for 21% of the world’s nations. He had this to say about “It’s Not Fair!”. It is a song that I was hired by a guy to write this song for his girlfriend. At that time she was an Airline Stewardess who was always gone. In the air most of the time. He wanted to let her know how he felt about her so I wrote and sang the song for him. Her name was Zaphera. I heard from him at a later date that she loved the song. Did she leave the job for the guy? Only the sky knows!”
- Shadow Valley - Goodbye
Shadow Valley actually wrote this song back in 2016 when they were still known as PEMA. The lead singer at the time, Prenda Rodriguez, originally wrote the song to her brother since he was leaving town while she was at a concert. When she got the text she was super sad to read he was leaving and she wasn’t able to say goodbye at that moment, it hit her hard in that moment. Years later she passed the lyrics on to guitarist Eli Arevalo who changed the lyrics to be about an ex of his that he wasn’t ready to say goodbye to. The version linked here is the acoustic version of the song as they still have yet to release the actual version.
