In this interview, we sit down with Arts & Culture editor for The Prospector, Meagan Garcia. Our interview with Garcia happened in June 2023 one afternoon. We discussed a number of topics including what led to becoming Arts & Culture Editor at The Prospector, the newspaper of the University of Texas at El Paso. She explained how her mom encouraged her to apply, and how the first time she went to the movies alone was to write a review for The Prospector and balance her workload and student activities.
We also talk about her process in writing a story, her favorite stories she has written for The Prospector, and being an engineering major and the Vice President of the Creative Writing Society here on the UTEP campus.
