KTEP's Daisy Morales welcomed to the studios Candice Reyes and Abel Mireles, Executive and Artistic Directors of the Jazz Exchange to talk about their Academy program. They will start by discussing the importance of having accessible jazz education for different ages, and what the academy is about. They will also discuss what students will learn in the program, how to get in, the different classes they offer, and the process to enroll.

The Jazz Exchange Academy Program is designed to educate young musicians through music education classes, including improvisation, music theory, small ensemble, and big band. Through partnerships with community mentors and alumni, the program aims to enable the next generation to establish valuable connections, seize opportunities, and thrive in the arts and other diverse fields beyond just performing music on stage.
