NoncomMusic Alliance is celebrating its 7th annual National Public Radio Music Day on October 28th, and KTEP is joining the celebration with a roundtable discussion about the importance of public radio in our community.
KTEP’s host, Daisy Morales, talks to the host of State of the Arts, Marina Monsisvais; Festival Director for the Sol Summit Music & Culture Festival, Seth Dodson; Co-Founder of Apple Tree Creative Center, Paul Ward, & music educator and producer, Mike Hernandez, about the importance of Public Radio in our community, how they create spaces to encourage younger musicians to further pursue their craft, and much more!
Along with this roundtable, KTEP's Anthony Piña curated a music playlist, along with our social media community, with the different local talents in El Paso to highlight their support for our public radio.
Public Radio Music Day celebrates the vital, noncommercial role that public radio music stations, artists, and listeners play in local communities and across the nation.
We would like to give a special thanks to UTEP's Digital Media Production Association and its student staff for recording this session, which was edited by Tony Pina. Special thanks as well to KTEP's student production staff members Ava elder, Charlize Mercado, and Olivia Williams for their support on the recording on this video.
