El Paso Harm Reduction Alliance Hosts Overdose Awareness Vigil to Honor Lives Lost and Inspire Change
El Paso, TX — The El Paso Harm Reduction Alliance invites the community to join “A Light for Every Life: Overdose Awareness Vigil” in observance of International Overdose Awareness Day.
The vigil will honor those lost to overdose, support grieving families, raise awareness, and affirm that every life matters. The evening will provide a dignified, compassionate space to memorialize loved ones, reduce stigma by humanizing overdose victims and survivors, connect attendees with harm reduction, mental health, and recovery resources, and inspire community action and policy change through shared stories.
In addition to the vigil, the El Paso Harm Reduction Alliance is welcoming participation from local organizations whose work aligns with the event’s mission—such as harm reduction, mental health, recovery, or substance use treatment services. Vendors are encouraged to bring their own tables and chairs.
The Alliance is also seeking speakers who have survived an overdose or who have lost a loved one to overdose. Speakers may share live at the event or participate in a pre-recorded video segment to be shown during the vigil.
