The Consulate General of Mexico in El Paso, in collaboration with El Centro Cultural Paso del Norte, the Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC), and the Museum of the Revolution on the Border (MUREF), is pleased to invite the public to the opening of the exhibition “Maletas Migrantes.”

“Maletas Migrantes” is a collection of artistic suitcases created by artists from Mexico and the United States using various techniques. Each suitcase tells a unique story inspired by the journeys, dreams, and experiences of those who migrate in search of new opportunities. This collection offers a sensitive and creative perspective on universal values such as perseverance, hope, and belonging.

The exhibition combines contemporary visual techniques with symbols that represent significant moments in the human journey, featuring personal objects, imagined landscapes, memories, emotions, and deep-seated connections. Rather than simply telling a story of migration, this collection celebrates adaptability, cultural diversity, and the resilience of identities in movement.
