In this first episode, we find out how Daniel and Kevin ended up in El Paso. They discuss their first impressions of the Chihuahuan Desert and some misconceptions that folks might have about the region. Season one covers desert critters, everything from birds and bugs to beavers and bats, and diverse plant life that can be anything from prickly and thorny to flowery and leafy. Desert Diaries is hosted by Daniel Carey-Whalen from the Centennial Museum and Chihuahuan Desert Gardens and features Kevin Floyd, Botanical Curator.
Desert Diaries is recorded in the KTEP Public Media studios and is a production of The University of Texas at El Paso Division of Marketing and Communications.
