Democrats launch text message campaign in Florida Senate race to reach Latino voters
Florida Democratic Senate candidate Debbie Mucarsel-Powell is launching an effort to directly reach Spanish-speaking voters through the popular encrypted messaging platform WhatsApp. It is part of her broader effort to reach Spanish-speaking Latino voters in an increasingly tight Senate race.

The FBI is looking to hire more agents and is hosting a diversity recruitment event in El Paso this week. Jeffrey Downey is the Special Agent in charge in El Paso. The FBI wants to hire more women and minorities. According to the FBI About 23 percent of agents are women and about 20 percent are racial or ethnic minorities.

Bridge wait times are longer than usual just in time for the weekend, according to the Customs and Border Protection website. Passenger vehicles are waiting two hours to cross the Bridge of The Americas in South Central El Paso and an hour and a half to cross the Downtown bridge.
