In this edition of El Paso Prime Time, Richard Dayoub, from Thunderbird Management, is joined in the studio by renowned El Paso artist Hal Marcus and El Paso author Luke Lowenfield to talk about their collaboration on the children’s books ¡Muchas Gracias Maria! and Buenas Noches El Paso. They both talk about how they met, their experience collaborating and going through the creative process, and how their relationship with their community and the city evolved as they worked on the books.

Luke Lowenfield is a writer who was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He studied Spanish Literature at Washington and Lee University, graduated from the University of Texas Law School, and received a graduate certificate in children's literature from Pennsylvania State University. He is inspired by his children and the U.S.A.-Mexico borderland where he lives.

Hal Marcus is a renowned El Paso artist whose interest in painting began in high school and developed into a lifelong passion for the arts. His sense of color originated from the influences of Mexico where as a child he accompanied his grandmother on weekly visits to the Juarez market. Marcus was inducted into the El Paso Artists Hall of Fame in 2003 and he served as a member and then as Chairman of the El Paso Museum of Art Advisory Board from 2004-2007. The Hal Marcus gallery features over 100 artists from the El Paso region along with Hal Marcus's fine art.
