Military Sexual Trauma and Suicide Prevention

The El Paso Veteran Administration (VA) is offering two new programs for veterans that address Military Sexual Trauma and Suicide Prevention. In this edition of El Paso Prime Time, Richard Dayoub talks with Elisa Barron and Jaqueline Flores.

Military sexual trauma (MST) is a serious issue affecting many Veterans, but it's important to remember that support is available. The El Paso VA offers a dedicated support group to help Veterans navigate the healing process. If you or someone you know could benefit from this support, reach out to the El Paso VA MST Coordinator at 915-782-5372.

The VA is also offering assistance for those dealing with a crisis. If you’re a Veteran in a mental health crisis and you’re thinking about hurting yourself—or you know a Veteran who’s considering this—get help right away. You can call or text 988 or call the VA at 915-564-7955 or by emailing them elpsuicidepreventionteam@va.gov.
