County Judge Ricardo Samaniego

In this edition of El Paso Prime Time, host Richard Dayoub from Thunderbird Management welcomes to the KTEP studios County Judge Ricardo Samaniego to talk about several critical initiatives to improve the lives of our community. The conversation will start by explaining the role of a county judge as well as the Judge’s background. They will also discuss healthcare, aerospace and economic and agricultural development in El Paso. The Judge will also discuss El Paso’s future economic position in manufacturing as a border community, and the benefits and opportunities this offers.

Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Judge Samaniego is a proud graduate from Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso and the University of Notre Dame. Before taking public office, he worked in various fields in both the private and public sector. His professional background is all-encompassing as he worked as an El Paso County Juvenile Probation Officer, an Interim Director for the El Paso County Housing Authority, Human Resources Director for Rio Grande Workforce Solutions, and as an Operations Director for SERCO of Texas.

Ricardo A. Samaniego was sworn in as the El Paso County Judge on January 1, 2019.
