On this episode of El Paso Prime Time, host Richard Dayoub from Thunderbird Management welcomes to the studio the Dean and Associate Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Clifton Tanabe & Dr. Erika Mein, to discuss their latest research and program developments. They discuss recent findings in the education field that have fueled their "Miner Teacher Residency", why it matters, and more details about what enrolled students will be signing up for and the benefits that they will obtain by the end of the year-long program.
The Miner Teacher Residency involves a full year of hands-on clinical preparation in an elementary or middle school classroom, alongside a carefully selected and trained Mentor Teacher. In addition, residents receive ongoing coaching and support from a UTEP Site Coordinator, a UTEP faculty member who is based on-site at partner campuses.
