Garden Chores for the Fall

Texas A&M Forest Service

Denise Rodriguez, John White and Jan Petrzelka share their thoughts on garden chores for this part of the year. If you are thinking of planting a tree, this is a good part of the year. If you don’t have room in your garden for a tree, you might want to consider wild flowers such as BlueBonnets, California Red Poppies or Pansies. Of course, this is also a good time to give your lawn some love and maintenance.

Texas Arbor Day is coming up and if you need help selecting a tree, Texas A&M Forest Service offers a Tree Planting Guide. Although the national holiday is in April, it's celebrated in Texas the first Friday in November because late fall and winter are the best times to plant trees in the Lone Star State.
