On this week’s show, Denise, John, and Jan offer tips on keeping cool and hydrated from the summer heat and safe from long sun exposure. During this time of the year, heat strokes and sunburns are a rising concern to gardeners everywhere, leading to dehydration, exhaustion, and other health problems, and can be dangerous if not treated properly. Denise will also provide more updates and information on the El Paso County Master Gardeners programs that will be available for anyone to attend alongside classes and interests from the El Paso Water Utilities.

In 1981, the El Paso Master Gardeners Program was the first program started within the state of Texas. The program offers the flexibility necessary to maintain being a responsive organization throughout Texas. Master Gardeners volunteer with others to spread their interest, gain horticultural training and give back to their communities.
