Growing Pecans

Texas A&M AgriLife photo by Laura McKenzie

On this week’s show, Denise, John and Jan offer tips on growing pecans within El Paso and Mesilla. With our climate that we have in the area, we will share different events, such as the Western Pecan Growers Conference and Pecan Fest, that will share important information about pecans, show you tips on how to take care of your pecans and the health benefits they will bring back to you. Denise will also provide more updates and information on the El Paso County Master Gardeners programs that will be available for anyone to attend.

The Master Gardeners program has spread throughout all 50 states, including Canada and several other countries. Master Gardener projects, such as classroom gardening at local schools, speakers bureaus, community and demonstration gardens and information booths at local events, reflect the needs of their communities. The Texas Master Gardeners are united in name, but the program’s strengths lies in its ability to meet the diverse needs of the communities it serves.
