Two new films hit theaters last week, one an international espionage thriller, the other a stripped-down war film set in Irak, neither are the Minecraft movie.

The new films Warfare and The Amateur have different approaches to action. Warfare is intensely and unflinchingly realistic and The Amateur is a full-blown Hollywood revenge tale.

Join host Charles Horak with fellow critics choice member Felipa Solis to review the new films on their radar.

Charles Horak didn't sleep much as a child, preferring instead to watch movies on late night TV. Not much has changed since then, except that he now shares his life-long passion for movies with others. Horak's association with On Film began in the summer of 2002 when he was interviewed by the show's originator, Cynthia Haines. In the summer of 2005, Horak took over for Haines as host of the show.
Sam Cassiano is a native Californian who spent his formative years in the Bay Area. An army brat, his family toured Germany and Japan before settling in El Paso in 1973. Initially a Communications Major at UTEP, a radio internship at KPAS-FM 94, the PASS launched his broadcasting career. He can be heard as the morning news anchor on KTEP during NPR's Morning Edition, and Friday evenings at 10 pm as the host of Friday Night Blues.
