UTEP: Digital Media Production Association

Film schools provide the tools for young filmmakers to learn more and practice in low-stake environments. A school of thought is that the greatest utility film school has is connecting you with like-minded individuals who share your desire to tell stories via the visual mediums of film and television.

UTEP's Digital Media Production Association has been shaping minds and equipping students with knowledge for different media careers to include film and television, a like minded aspect of individuals getting together to help tell eachother's stories is strengthen by organizations such as the Digital Media Production Association. Join this edition of On Film, with co-host Carlos de la Torre, and DMPA President Angelica Gutierrez and DMPA Secretary Edgar Alvarez, to discuss the Digital Media Association at UTEP.

Carlos De La Torre is a volunteer fill-in host for On Film, Saturdays at 11:00 AM. He runs Tower Productions which produces films and podcasts interviewing actors, writers and producers.
Sam Cassiano is a native Californian who spent his formative years in the Bay Area. An army brat, his family toured Germany and Japan before settling in El Paso in 1973. Initially a Communications Major at UTEP, a radio internship at KPAS-FM 94, the PASS launched his broadcasting career. He can be heard as the morning news anchor on KTEP during NPR's Morning Edition, and Friday evenings at 10 pm as the host of Friday Night Blues.
