Femme Frontera Film Festival 2026

Aiming to amplify, empower, and support women in gender-expansive filmmakers, the Femme Frontera film festival is returning to the borderland to celebrate its 10th anniversary from June 11 to the 14th. The Femme Frontera Film Festival showcases diverse stories and perspectives that are often underrepresented in mainstream media.

On this edition of On Film, guest host Carlos de la Torre interviews special guest, Jackie Barragan, documentary filmmaker and co-director, to talk about their upcoming film festival at the Mexican-American Cultural Center and the Plaza Theater from June 11 through the 14th.

Carlos De La Torre is a volunteer fill-in host for On Film, Saturdays at 11:00 AM. He runs Tower Productions which produces films and podcasts interviewing actors, writers and producers.
Sam Cassiano is a native Californian who spent his formative years in the Bay Area. An army brat, his family toured Germany and Japan before settling in El Paso in 1973. Initially a Communications Major at UTEP, a radio internship at KPAS-FM 94, the PASS launched his broadcasting career. He can be heard as the morning news anchor on KTEP during NPR's Morning Edition, and Friday evenings at 10 pm as the host of Friday Night Blues.
