The U.S. National Science Foundation is an independent federal agency that supports science and engineering in all 50 states and U.S. territories.

Jose Almirall was living in Barcelona, Spain when his interest in science “sparked” while watching the fireworks in the Fiesta Mayor, and it only grew because of a volcano project later at school; join us in the first episode of the Summer 2023 edition of Science Studio as Forensic Scientist, Jose Almirall, narrates his journey from Cuba, to Barcelona, to Miami as a forensic chemist and how he ended up being a Program Director for the National Science Foundation.
