Dr. Purnendu Sandy Dasgupta grew up in India where he got his honors in Chemistry Bachelor of Science degree, and Master’s Degree in Inorganic Chemistry. In 1973, he went to the United States and attended Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge as a graduate student and received his PhD in analytical Chemistry. Dasgupta discusses how his father influenced his work and path to his career as well as his project of attempting to analyze materials extraterrestrially.
