April Genevieve Tucholke was raised on a farm and had a deep connection with nature. She loved reading and writing but was never close to the city, reason why she didn't have a great source to buy and read plenty of books. She used to write plays and have her siblings act it out, which she says was very fun! For a while after college, she stopped writing until later in her life she lived in Scotland and fell in love with the nature of it and taught herself how to write a whole novel, and explore Gothic cities.
