On this edition of The Weekend, Louie Saenz welcomes Associate Professor of Art History and Architect expert, Max Grossman, to discuss the unique designs and structural integrity of Henry Trost’s buildings, his family history, and why they chose El Paso to build their architectural designs.
After a year and a half of Engineering school at UC Berkeley, Max Grossman became fascinated in architectural history and decided to double major in English and Art History. He later went to graduate school to study architectural history at Columbia University in New York. After seven years of fieldwork in Italy studying medieval and renaissance architecture, he came back to El Paso, where he was fascinated by the architecture of our Downtown and the surrounding areas. Focused on Historic Preservation and promotion of our architectural environment, he is the member of three different chairs.
