UTEP Faculty Profiles
Dr. Jose Leobardo Bañuelos, leads the NICE2 Lab (Nanomaterials, Interfaces, and Confinement for Energy & the Environment Laboratory) in the Department of Physics at UTEP. He enjoys mentoring students and is committed to training competent scientists to take on today's grand challenges in science.

Young Leo knew what he liked, but just like many, he didn’t know what it was called like. From Chaparral to New Mexico, to Oak Ridge to the University of Texas at El Paso, Professor Bañuelos has always been interested in physics and in this edition of We Are UT El Paso, he sits down to talk about the development this had through his life.
