Josiah Heyman and the border.

Center for Inter-American and Border Studies, College of Liberal Arts, at The University of Texas at El Paso.
UTEP Faculty Profiles
Dr. Josiah M. Heyman, has dedicated his scholarly and personal career to the people of the U.S.-Mexico borderlands.

What do we get when a biochemist marries a geologist? Well, situations may vary but in today's episode of We Are UT El Paso, coming from a household that would spend extended periods of time on the campus of Virginia Tech, Professor of Anthropology and also, Director of the Center for Inter-American and Border Studies (CIBS) at the University of Texas at El Paso, Josiah Heyman, sits down with us to talk about his aspirations, his goals and how life brought him to our campus.

The Center for Inter-American Studies is a focus for UTEP activities concerning Borders, Latin America, and the Caribbean. While an emphasis on our local region is interwoven through most UTEP activities, CIBS creates a central point of leadership and support for other units in academic programs, research, and outreach activities.
