Dallas Brass

KTEP's Charlize Mercado welcomes Dr. Steve Wilson, Professor of Trombone at the University of Texas at El Paso, and Michael Levine, founder of the Dallas Brass, an American Brass Quintet that features a unique blend of traditional brass instruments with a full complement of drums and percussion. They talked about their special performance at 7:30 at UTEP’s Magoffin Auditorium.

Michael Levine is originally from St. Louis Park, MN. He first attended the University of Minnesota and then The Juilliard School, where he received his Bachelor of Music Degree. For three years he held the position of Assistant Principal Trombone in the Jerusalem (Israel) Symphony Orchestra. Michael founded the Dallas Brass in 1983 and played trombone in the group until 2015. He continues to serve as the ensemble’s Master of Ceremonies and Artistic Director.

Dallas Brass will be perfoming March 6, at 7:30 at UTEP’s Magoffin Auditorium.
