Keith Pannell is in the art department with Max Grossman, an art historian. Originally Max thought he was going to be a scientist and an engineer but was influenced by his father who was an art collector. Apart from his work as an Associate Professor, he has lead the restoration of Sacred Heart Church in El Paso.

Dr. Grossman earned his B.A. in Art History and English at the University of California-Berkeley, and his M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Art History at Columbia University. After seven years of residence in Tuscany, he completed his dissertation on the Civic Architecture, Urbanism and Iconography of the Sienese Republic in the Middle Ages and Early Renaissance. He is part of the Department of Art at The University of Texas at El Paso, where he is Associate Professor of Art History.
