On this week’s show, Denise, John, and Jan offer tips on how to take care of your vegetable gardens and ornamentals with the rising temperatures. At this time of the year, vegetable gardens and ornamentals are having heat-related issues, such as sunburn, dehydration, and root rot, and share useful tips on how to plant, care and harvest your plants and vegetables. Denise will also provide more updates and information on the El Paso County Master Gardeners programs that will be available for anyone to attend.
The El Paso Master Gardener program was started in 1981 by John White with a growing number of new volunteers, even to this day. The program’s volunteers have helped and contributed over 400,000 hours to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. United in name, the strength of the program lies in the ability to meet the community's many needs as well.
