Plants and Pipes in Cold Weather

Sam Craft
/
Texas A&M AgriLife

On this week’s show, Denise, John, and Jan offer tips on how to protect your plants and pipes from the cold, freezing weather at this time of the year. As the first frost of the year approaches, we want to advise fellow gardeners how to be ahead of taking certain precautions for your plants and pipes in the garden as soon as possible before they arrive. Denise will also provide more updates and information on the El Paso County Master Gardeners programs that will be available for anyone to attend.

For the Master Gardeners Program, a love of gardening and search for knowledge is the primary reason for joining. Even once trained and certified, Master gardeners can continue to volunteer with others who share their interests, gain continual horticultural training, and give back to their communities. Regardless of the size of the program, there is usually a waiting list of individuals who want to become Master Gardeners.
