On this week’s Good to Grow, hosts Denise and Jan will talk with Jennifer Barr, Water Conservation manager at the Tech H2O Center, about water conservation and landscaping for gardeners this spring. Some of the steps you can take towards water conservation is to repurpose and divert the grey water from your washing machine into your backyard. El Paso Water offers a Laundry-to-Landscape (L2L) rebate that provides up to $250 per home to cover eligible material costs for diverting washing machine water into your backyard. To be eligible, the gravity-fed system must comply with city plumbing codes and greywater cannot pool for more than 24 hours. The El Paso County Master Gardeners started in 1981 and has been growing with many volunteers and Master Gardeners ever since. The love of gardening and search for knowledge are primary reasons people join the program to become trained and certified Master Gardeners. Texas Master Gardeners are united in name, but the program’s strength lies in its ability to meet the diverse needs of the communities it serves.
