On this week’s Good to Grow, hosts Denise, Jan and John will talk about tree care and the importance of trees, especially out in our desert climate. Do you know the best time to plant a tree? There are only two right answers, back then and now! A lot of people take trees for granted; they need to be cared for, and you have to be careful how close to your house you plant the tree (its root system will extend further throughout the years). The El Paso County Master Gardeners started in 1981 and has been growing with many volunteers and Master Gardeners ever since. The love of gardening and search for knowledge are primary reasons people join the program to become trained and certified Master Gardeners. Texas Master Gardeners are united in name, but the program’s strength lies in its ability to meet the diverse needs of the communities it serves.
