For those who love movies and their history, the Turner Classic Movies channel, or TCM, has been a perpetual source of sustenance and education. Launched 30 years ago with a ceremony in Times Square, New York City, and over three decades it has established itself as an invaluable public resource for the celebration and appreciation of moving images, and those who make them. In this edition of On Film, host Charles Horak welcomes TCM’s Senior Director of Original Programming, Scott McGee to discuss the channel’s deep history.
Scott McGee is the senior director of original programming at Turner Classic Movies. As part of the team behind the TCM Classic Film Festival and the TCM Classic Cruise, he has programmed and introduced films and interviewed special guests at both events.
