Mitchell Jackson is a winning writer from 2021 by the Pulitzer Prize and the National Magazine Award. Mitchell Jackson has also spoken on the TED show. As Mitchell joins KTEP, he goes into detail sharing his love for basketball and his experiences by going to games. He explains how basketball is more than just a sport, it is also about fashion. He gets into the history of fashion and why it all started.
Mitchell takes us on an adventure to explore the significance of the era and the cultural influences of the league starting in 1949, the pre-civil rights movement, when the NBA had a majority of white players who wore suits and skinny ties. Coming the following years of the Civil Rights Act 1964, we came to a new era of Funk and R&B when basketball fashion became much more. Come join Mitchell Jackson and Louie Saenz here on the Book Club at KTEP for more of “FLY: The Big Book of Basketball Fashion.”
