Texas Hart- If Youre Ever On Everest
YouTube
Spotify
Now to kick off this NYE show, first up is Texas Hart, he is back at it again with another vintage styled song, believe it or not this song was actually inspired by a Lokai bracelet which is a type of bracelet that has a white bead on top which contains water from Mt. Everest (the highest) point on Earth, and a black bead on the bottom which contains mud from the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. These two points lead Texas to write this song about staying humble when you're at a high point and hopeful when you're at a low point
As The City Sleeps- This Book Reads Like Stereo Instructions

Spotify
The music here was actually inspired by the band trying to create a bit more of a poppy sound to try to step away from how they usually sound. The mellow atmosphere created in this track compliments the way the lyrics are sung as the words were meant to convey a calm weekend with someone special. The title really caught my attention as it reminded me of old emo songs that have a sentence for a name, the band says this title has nothing to do with the content of the song and was actually a reference to the movie Beetlejuice The Handbook For the Recently Deceased

The0dicy- Modern Problems
YouTube
Spotify
Modern Problems was inspired by 16-Bit video games, namely the SEGA Genesis Sonic The Hedgehog series’ music. Modeled after the funky bass lines and rebellious ‘attitude’ you might find in that era, the song really took cues from their infectious playfulness and sense of groove. It felt only fitting to bring the vocals into modern times set against the backdrop of social media and meme culture almost becoming more real to many than the world beyond their phones.
Ness Daniels- Codebreaker

The Small House Movement- Vandal in Plaid

The Small House Movement is a local trio from the lower valley, they say its hard for them to pigeonhole their genre but they do love hearing people's suggestions on what genre they may actually be. They are also open to hearing what everyone interprets this song to be about since all band members have different interpretations on what this song is about. The singer likes to believe it is about being in a relationship where both people are bringing each other down, the drummer thinks its about drugs, and the bassist likes to think its about a whale.
