KTEP's Angela Kocherga begins a series of conversations about COVID-19 that go beyond the grim numbers to examine some of the issues and disparities exposed by the pandemic. Angela and guest co-host Alfredo Corchado, Mexico border correspondent for The Dallas Morning News based in El Paso, interview authors, historians and researchers.

On this episode: a conversation about the pandemic's impact on the border and beyond with Dean of UTEP’s College of Liberal Arts and award-winning author Denis O’Hearn. His book subjects range from Irish economic history to the Zapatistas in Mexico. He also wrote a biography of Irish hunger striker Bobby Sands.  Also, a nurse caring for COVID-19 patients talks about contracting the virus and a new interactive map tracks
COVID-19 hotspots along the Texas-Mexico border.
