Reshma Shah

Tom and Liz have a conversation with Reshma Shah. Shah will discuss her book, Nourish staging how cooking plant based meals for families can help improve our diets, our connections to one another, as well as protecting animals on our planet. Shah wants to help motivate others and spread this message across families and to provide tips on helping children to live a healthy life.

Dr. Reshma Shah is a board-certified pediatrician and affiliate clinical instructor at Stanford University School of Medicine. She has additional training and certification in plant-based nutrition and cooking and is the co-author of Nourish: Her work includes experience in primary care pediatrics and has served as an assistant clinical professor at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. She currently cares for patients at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and has training and certification in plant-based nutrition and cooking.

Tom Linney works with the Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) Animal Law Program and is on the board of Pets Alive-El Paso. Among other duties, Tom is responsible for developing and marketing ALDF’s Animal Law Pro Bono Program to interested firms and attorneys and for helping students transition from law student to legal professional. He also provides support to professionals interested in teaching animal law and collaborates with ALDF’s Litigation and Criminal Justice Program to assign appropriate pro bono counsel to ALDF projects and cases.
Liz Walsh is a Professor of Biological Sciences at the University of Texas at El Paso. She is also a member of the national Sierra Club Wildlife & Endangered Species Activist Team. Dr. Walsh also serves on the Executive Committee of the El Paso Regional Sierra Club Group, and as a board member of the Vegetarian Society of El Paso. Liz is also interim president of the Vegetarian Society of El Paso.
John Martinez was an intern assistant producer on ACT Radio, Science Studio, and The Book Club with Louie Saenz. He enjoys pop culture, sporting events, and listening to various types of music.
