Our planet depends on the vitality of the oceans to support and sustain it. But despite their importance, our oceans are facing unprecedented threats as a result of human activity, including overfishing, global climate change, pollution, habitat destruction, and more. On ACT Radio, Liz and Tom talk with Roger Fisk, Executive Director of the nonprofit organization Sea Shepherd, about how their international fleet of ships and smaller boats are used in various ocean conservation campaigns to protect marine wildlife.

Sea Shepherd has kicked off X in the Upper Gulf of California. Operation Milagro X collaborates to protect the endangered vaquita porpoise. Roger Fisk discusses how he got involved in animal issues and the work that Sea Shepherd is working on.

Originally aired on October 8, 2023.
