Acclaimed film editor Sandra Adair joins On Film to reflect on her remarkable career, from the early days of cutting physical film to the evolution of digital editing. Adair discusses how she found her way into the editing room, her decades-long creative partnership with director Richard Linklater, and their work together on films including Dazed and Confused, the Before trilogy, and Boyhood.
She also shares why trust and creative collaboration are essential in the editing room, her continued passion for supporting independent and Texas filmmakers, and what she has learned working on smaller regional productions.
Adair also looks ahead to her visit to the El Paso Film Festival, where she will participate in a 12th anniversary screening of Boyhood and share her experience with Borderland filmmakers during the Creating Ways Conference.
