Russ Bengtson shares his experience with Basketball and his knowledge towards basketball sneakers. He also elaborates the history of women in basketball and their fashion.
Russ grew up around basketball and sneakers, fell in love with his first pair of Jordans when he was 14 years old, his life started changing afterwards as he entered his prime marketing times. Russ worked in Complex and Slam, going to events for sneakers launches. Russ started to question where were the famous sneakers, the retros, the history and started to realize this was a great motivation for his book “A History of Basketball in Fifteen Sneakers”. Sneakers allowed basketball players to express themselves even more, to allow them to stand out.
